A Case of Treatment of Laryngopharyngeal Stenosis after Caustic Ingestion
The rate of caustic ingestion among patients who attempt suicide is high. Among corrosive substances, sodium hydroxide can cause corrosive damage and lead to serious complications in the upper respiratory tract. Therefore, active treatment and close follow-up are necessary to prevent complications. In this case report, we report a case of a 50-year-old male treated for severe laryngopharyngeal stenosis following ingestion of sodium hydroxide.
