The Effects of Balance Pad Exercises on Walking and Balance Abilities in Elderly Female Stroke Patients

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of balance pad exercises on walking and balance abilities in elderly female stroke patients. Statistical data were processed using SPSS(Windows Version 12.0) with descriptive statistics applied to the physical characteristics of the subjects as well as each variable(walking, balance abilities). The differences within and between the two groups were analyzed using two way repeated measures ANOVA, with the significance level set at α= .05. The findings showed significant differences in balance based on the measurements, and similar results were observed for walking. These outcomes indicate that balance pad exercises can help elderly female stroke patients enhance their balance and walking capabilities.
