The Multidimensional Relationship between PWV, ABI and Body Composition in Obesity Middle Aged Women

The purpose of this study was to investigated the relationship for the application and the usefulness of canonical correlation analysis in body composition between b-aPWV, blood pressure and ABI in obesity middle aged women.
In order to achieve the objects, 31 middle aged women were included. All participants measured body composition by InBody 4.0(ver). The body composition factors were FM(fat mass), FFM(free fat mass), BMI(body mass index),
WHR(waist to hip ratio), %fat(percentile fat), WC(waist circumference) and BW(body water). The b-aPWV and ABI were measured by Colin pulse Waveform Analyzer(VP-1000, Colin, Japan). For analysis, multiple and canonical correlation were used SAS(ver 9.4) The body composition(WHR, %fat, WC, FM, BMI) of obesity middle aged women were positively correlation with R-PWV(right brachial-ankle Pulse Wave Velocity). And WHR, WC were positively correlation with blood pressure(Systolic, Diastolic). The body composition(WHR, WC, %fat, FM, BMI) of obesity middle aged women were positively correlation with L-PWV(left brachial-ankle Pulse Wave Velocity). In the canonical correlation of between body composition and PWV · ABI(Right), PWV were most important factor to body composition(Independent variable). Also, WHR was most important factor to PWV · ABI(Right, Dependent variable). In the canonical correlation of between body composition and PWV · ABI(Left), PWV were most important factor to body composition(Independent variable). Also, WHR was most important factor to PWV · ABI(Left, Dependent variable). Therefore the canonical correlation coefficient of between body composition and PWV · ABI(R, L) in obesity middle aged women were very high correlation coefficient(Right=.80, Left=.81). The results suggest that high obesity factor(WHR=first priority, %fat, WC) may have negative effect for b-aPWV, blood pressure and ABI in obesity middle aged women. So, we suggest that a regular exercise training might prevent of CAD(Coronary Artery Disease) through low WHR.
