Limitations of Inverters by Weight of Power Components
Inverters are not a new technology. Many devices and objects have inverters installed. However, there is now a growing trend to re-evaluate the performance of inverters in facilities and equipment. One of the main reasons for this is the increase in the amount of power and energy used in manufacturing sites. Currently, automation and intellectualization processes are accelerating in many industries. While each piece of equipment becomes more energy efficient, in many cases the amount of electricity used overall increases. To achieve maximum energy-saving characteristics of equipment, it is necessary to introduce inverters of comparable capabilities. Higher voltages, smaller dimensions and lighter weight are also important factors. For example, as solar power equipment operates at higher voltages and voltage stabilizers become smaller and lighter, power conversion inverters must also support these trends. High frequency reduces the size of components and the installation area of the inverter.
