THE FORMATION OF THE MODERN RUSSIAN SCHOOL OF MOSAIC ART: FROM THE CREATION TO THE RESTORATION OF THE MOSAIC “JESUS BLESSING THE CHILDREN” ON THE FACADE OF THE SAINT PETERSBURG STATE INSTITUTE OF CINEMA AND TELEVISION ON PRAVDA STREET

The article is devoted to the study of the history of the Russian mosaic school, preceding the creation of the mosaic “Jesus Blessing the Children” on the facade of the Saint Petersburg State Institute of Cinema and Television. The author establishes a close connection between one of the school’s directions and the principles of teaching this technique at the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting of the Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, whose graduates carried out the restoration of the work.
