. NEUHAUS AND THE MODERN CONCERT STAGE (ON THE OCCASION OF THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PIANIST’S DEATH)
The article examines a chapter from the book “Portraits of Pianists” by D. A. Rabinovich, which is today considered a textbook, from a modern evaluative standpoint. The contradictory aspects of the assessments of Neuhaus’ artistic position are also not ignored. Analysing Rabinovich’s work, the authors of the article compare the statements of modern pianists and researchers about Neuhaus’ performing style and the place that this outstanding pianist and teacher occupied in the national piano culture.
