STAGES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHINESE PIANO MUSIC
The piano, introduced to China from Europe during the Qin Dynasty, has long been an instrument for the upper classes, but in the 20th century, with the rise of economic prosperity and the development of spiritual culture, piano education has become accessible to a wide range of society. The younger generation of the PRC is increasingly beginning to learn the piano and to appreciate the art of piano playing. In the 20th century, national composers begin to create a significant number of piano works in accordance with artistic traditions and the aesthetic preferences of listeners. Modern piano music has certain stylistic features related to Chinese musical folklore. This article examines the stages of China’s piano art and education according to the national and aesthetic characteristics of folk music. The relevance and novelty of this article is that it is the first time to examine the work of modern composer Zhang Chao in the field of piano music, including his work “Numa Ame”.
