Traffic Network Modeling and Control Based on Compartment Model and Positive Systems Theory
This paper investigates the traffic network modeling and control synthesis from the perspective of flow management. The dynamical property of the traffic network is represented by compartmental model, and the nonlinear supply function is modeled by the T-S fuzzy model, which is suitable for the comprehensive control analysis of the traffic flow. In addition, to provide quantitative guidance for ramp flow control, a fuzzy tracking controller is designed for the compartmental-model-based traffic network system, and the control analysis is performed through positive systems theory. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed model and control strategy are verified by a simulation example.
