Analysis of thermal management strategy of a range-extended vehicle under WLTC working conditions
This paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of the thermal management system for a certain extended-range vehicle, meticulously dissecting the composition and operational mechanisms of its thermal management architecture. It delves into the implementation effects of various battery thermal management modes. Through analysis, the switching conditions of different thermal management loops for this vehicle model and the performance under different battery thermal management modes are elucidated. Furthermore, based on the analytical findings, the study underscores the importance of closely monitoring the temperature difference regulation between the cooling/heating loops and the battery loop during the design of battery pack thermal management loops. This ensures alignment between operational objectives and actual outcomes, thereby averting adverse effects. Additionally, it highlights the necessity of prioritizing the enhancement of heat exchange efficiency and addressing the challenge of heat transfer lag in scenarios requiring transitional loops for heat exchange. The outcomes presented herein serve as a valuable reference for the innovation and development of thermal management strategies in new energy vehicles.
