Computer Simulation and Numerical Study of Coach Front Crash Safety Performance

Aiming at the high risk of driver injury and death in frontal collision, the frontal collision safety of full-load bus body structure and driver restraint system is simulated and numerically studied in this paper. Firstly, the vehicle and the restraint system are simulated, and the validity of the model is verified. Secondly, the driver safety performance of the passenger car at 50km/h collision speed is systematically analyzed. Finally, according to the simulation results, the problems existing in the constrained system are improved and optimized. The simulation results show that through the structural improvement of the vehicle and the matching design of the driver restraint system, the damage values of the head, chest and leg of the driver side dummy have decreased significantly, which better meets the requirements of relevant regulations.
