Time Series Momentum Study Based on Neural Network Models and Random Forest Models
In this study, the effect of "momentum" on the outcome of a tennis match is investigated using the 2023 Wimbledon men's singles final as a case study. Through Markov chain statistical modeling and white noise testing, the existence of "momentum" and its impact on the outcome of the match were confirmed. Neural networks and random forest models were used to predict changes in pace of play and provide player-specific recommendations. The final model showed high accuracy in overall data prediction, confirming the feasibility of the study. The study not only helps to improve the accuracy of match prediction, but also has instructive implications for fields such as intelligent training and scientific competitions.
