Analysis of the Reasons for the Fracture of Post Insulators in 220 kV Substations
Post insulator is a special kind of the insulation control, plays a two basic role in overhead transmission lines, namely support wire and prevent current back to the ground. Insulator should not produce due to the environment and electric load conditions breakdown and failure, otherwise insulator will lose effect, will damage the use and operation life of the whole line. This paper analyzes the fracture event of the pillar insulator of a 220 kV substation, and the corresponding samples are selected for the performance test of the mechanical damage load to prove the defect of the accident insulator, providing a reference for the future accident analysis of the insulators.
