Pentagon Shaped Slotted Ultra-Wideband Microstrip Antenna for 5G and WLAN Applications
In this paper, a compact pentagon-shaped microstrip patch antenna (MPA) is designed and simulated for fifth-generation (5G) and Wireless LAN (WLAN) applications. To achieve ultra-wide bandwidth (UWB), the proposed antenna has a partial ground plane. With a low-profile structure of 28 mm × 22 mm x 1.6 mm in size, it is suitable to be integrated into small devices easily. The antenna achieved ultra-wide band coverage of 5.33 GHz, 6.12 dBi peak gain, and return loss of -17.55 dB at 3.75 GHz.
