Innovative Optical Flat Panel Display Technologies and Development Trends Based on Visual Perception

This paper emphasizes vision as an important way for humans to perceive the external environment and describes the structure and function of the visual system in the perception process. Subsequently, the luminance response linearity, luminance response stability, spatial uniformity of luminance, spatial independence of luminance, temporal response to luminance change, and luminance transition response time of three different displays, Eizo T962, Samsung S27B370H, and Dell E2414H, are presented. The test system uses an AMD Radeon R7200 graphics card and Psychological Toolbox on the system in conjunction with a TES-1339 luminance meter to measure the luminance response and spatial distribution of luminance of the displays. A silicon PN-type photodiode BPW21R with a spectral response close to that of the human eye was completed and operated in reverse bias. The results show that; after Gamma correction, the nonlinear errors of the three displays are 1.69%, 4.13%, and 9.44%, respectively. The CRT display Eizo T962 has the best linearity, the Samsung S27B370H has the highest maximum luminance at 320 cd/m2, and the Dell E2414H has the highest contrast ratio at 99.31. In terms of brightness stability, the Samsung S27B370H monitor performs better, while the other monitors may have some degree of brightness fluctuation. It is expected that this paper will further enhance users' visual perception experience and promote the continuous development of related industries.
