A 3.5 GHz Low Noise Amplifier Using SICL-based Bias Tee Network

This paper presents a wideband low noise amplifier (LNA) design utilizing substrate-integrated coaxial line (SICL) technology. The proposed LNA achieves a minimum noise figure (NF) of 1.4 dB and features a compact circuit size of 0.75λ<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">g</inf> × l.46λ<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">g</inf>, with λ<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">g</inf> representing the guided wavelength at the center frequency of 3.5 GHz. The measured gain exceeds 10 dB across the 3-4 GHz frequency range, while the noise figure and input return loss are better than 1.7 dB and -11 dB, respectively.
