Plant Lighting Spectral Modeling for LED Driver Control

Considering that the peak wavelength of LED spectrum is affected by the change of current, a mathematical model of asymmetric LED spectrum based on the influence of current is proposed in this paper by testing the spectra of 15 kinds of LED lighting sources under different current conditions. Based on the optimized fitting spectrum analyzed, computer simulation is carried out in this paper and a single-stage LED driver is proposed and the prototype with rated power of 70W and AC input voltage ranging from 90-135Vrms is developed. At the same time, a dimming strategy based on plant growth spectral requirements was proposed. The output light is provided controlled to meet the needs of plant growth. The experimental results have been obtained to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed plant lighting spectral model, driver and dimming strategy.
