Simulation Analysis of Lamprey Population Reproduction Based on Population Impact Model and Evolution Model

This paper investigates the population dynamics and reproductive strategies of the lamprey population through the development of a quantitative model. The findings reveal that the high plasticity of the gender structure, as a crucial link in the food chain, enhances adaptability but also increases ecological uncertainty, potentially leading to significant fluctuations in the abundance and distribution of various species within the ecosystem. Furthermore, the study evaluates the impact of gender ratio changes on lamprey reproduction and external predation pressure, delving into the advantages and disadvantages of this adaptive strategy. Simulation results demonstrate that while this plasticity enhances the species’ ability to cope with scarce resources, an imbalance in gender ratios within the population increases the likelihood of inbreeding. Lastly, the paper introduces competitive populations to simulate the dynamic interactions between lampreys and other species, exploring and analyzing evolutionary trends under different scenarios. By examining the quantitative relationship between food supply and lamprey gender ratios, the study reveals that lamprey populations relying on a single food source are more susceptible to the threat of extinction when food supply fluctuates.
