Design and Simulation of Double annular Ring Microstrip Patch Antenna with Multiband Feature
A novel double annular ring antenna is proposed to use a double concentric ring microstrip antenna, with six sectors, to operate multiband in high impedance bandwidths and with high gains. The gaps between the active and passive patches generate resonant frequencies in the Ku, Ka, and V bands, making the antenna suitable for these multiband applications. The proposed antenna has dimensions of 29mm x 24mm x 1.6mm, indicating that it can operate in three bands with impedance bandwidths of 10.263 GHz (25.634 - 35.897 GHz), 2.733 GHz (37.529 - 40.262 GHz), and 5.148 GHz (41.28 - 46.428 GHz), which correspond to resonant frequencies of 26.5 GHz, 39 GHz, and 43.3 GHz, respectively. The suggested antenna has an acceptable return loss and maintains a steady radiation pattern throughout all resonant frequencies. The design uses substrate Rogers RO4003C with a relative permittivity of 3.55. The patch and ground plane were designed with PEC (Perfectly Electric Conductor) as the conductive material. Additionally, the new design achieves good gain values of 7.65 dB. To model the specified antennas, we use the commercial product CST (Computer Simulation Technology).
