Design of Dual Band WiFi PCB Antenna
This paper introduces a dual-band PCB trace antenna with a radiator intended for applications in 2.4/5.5-GHz wireless-local-area networks (WLAN). A standalone dual band antenna is intended for a large PCB and giving satisfactory radiation pattern. The dual band antenna contains a meandered strip for 2.4GHz and a hook shape structure for 5.5GHz printed on 6-layer PCB of size 130x55mm of FR4 substrate with 1.6mm thickness. To verify that the design fulfills the criteria, an analysis of the antenna utilizing a High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) is conducted during the design phase.
