A Single Band Advanced Patch Antenna with Slot Modification and Parasitic Structure Resonating at 60 GHz for V-Band Functionality
This research article presents the design of a modified patch antenna along with its parameters. The proposed antenna, featuring circular and rectangular slots along with a parasitic structure, resonates at 60 GHz with a return loss of - 43.1619 dB. The antenna has a Rogers RT substrate with dimensions 6.0 × 7.0 × 0.254 mm3, making it suitable for integration into devices. To design this antenna and stimulate the results HFSS (High-Frequency Structure Simulator) software was utilized. Various antenna performance metrics were evaluated using this software. A comprehensive analysis revealed that the gain of this design is 5.319 dB at 60GHz, voltage standing wave ratio is 0.1207 demonstrating good impedance matching. The real and imaginary impedance have been observed as 49.48 ohm and 0.45 ohm respectively, signifying optimal performance in terms of minimizing reflection and maximizing power transfer.
