Design of Microfluidic-Based Tunable T-Junction Power Divider
This study presents a novel microfluidic-based tunable T-junction power divider. The proposed configuration leverages the advantage of the microfluidic mechanism to reconfigure the operating frequency. Four fluidic pockets are created by partially milling out the substrate to hold dielectric liquid. The filling and removal of dielectric liquid dynamically enable the flexibility of each operating frequency. The prototype of the proposed configuration is fabricated and measured, utilizing the four significant states to cover a frequency tuning range from 3.5 GHz to 2.46 GHz. The proposed structure can be used for WiMAX and WLAN applications.
