Design and Analysis of Miniaturized 1:2 Wilkinson Power Divider with Circular Stubs for 5G Applications
This paper describes the design and analysis of a novel miniaturized Wilkinson Power Divider (WPD) with a small circular stub operating from 24-28 GHz. This frequency range is essential for 5G communication applications. The design uses a 7.5x3.0x0.25mm size RT duroid 5880 substrate with a relative permittivity of 2.2 and a loss tangent of 0.0009. The Power division will achieve an insertion loss of -3.3 dB. Operating frequency range from 24-28 GHz with isolation below-16dB is achieved. The design and simulations are carried out using Ansys HFSS latest version and performance parameters such as return loss, isolation, and insertion loss have been discussed in detail. To achieve broadband operation with equal power distribution at each output port, additionally small circular stub can be included along the tapered line. This circular stub will affect the power divider model's performance and improve the isolation between input and output ports. This WPD is specifically used for efficient 5G communication systems.
