Dual-Band Linearly Co-Polarized Antenna System for In-Band Full-Duplex (IBFD) Applications
This paper presents a linearly co-polarized, in-band full-duplex (IBFD) transceiver's antenna system for dual-band applications. The transceiver's antenna system constitutes two closely placed and identical quarter-wavelength shorted microstrip patch antennas (MPAs). A C-shaped slot is etched near the shorted edge of the individual MPA to obtain dual-band characteristics. At 2.4 GHz, the designed MPAs operate in TM1/2,0 mode, while at 3.5 GHz, they operate in TM1/2,2 mode. Each MPA's |S11| ≤ -10 dB bandwidth is 3.33% at 2.4 GHz and 2% at 3.5 GHz, while the corresponding inter-port isolations are more than 20 and 40 dB. Moreover, the designed transceiver's antenna system has a broadside gain of 5 dBi at 2.4 GHz and 5.5 dBi at 3.5 GHz.
