Study of an Approach for Numerical Evaluation of the Reliability of Measurement Results for an Intelligent Radiation Thermometry Sensor

The article presents the results of simulation modeling of the algorithm for estimation the reliability of the results of contactless temperature measurements carried out by a two-channel intelligent radiation thermometer in non-stationary conditions. In this case, reliability is understood as the probability of compliance of the current actual conditions of the measurement task with the limitations of the used measurement model. Using the example of two external destabilizing factors typical for an industrial environment (scattering of object radiation by dust and its absorption by water vapor), it is shown that with the correct selection of optical receivers, the calculated value of the reliability estimate is adequate to the current measurement situation and can help to correctly interpret the degree of quality of the measurement result at the upper level of data processing. However, due to the influence of the intrinsic noise of optical receivers, the proposed algorithm is advisable to use when measuring the temperatures of objects heated above 300–350 ° C
