Justification for the Choice of Geometric Parameters of the Cutting Strip of the Vertical Feeder of a Rotary Snow Blower*

The article is a study aimed at determining the influence of such a design parameter as the width and inclination angle of the cutting strip of the vertical feeder cutter of a rotary snow blower. A calculation diagram of the movement of a snow particle along the surface of the cutting strip has been compiled. Using the example of a low-power rotary snow blower with a vertical feeder, the boundary for changing the direction of action of the projections of the centrifugal force of inertia was determined. Regression dependences of their values on the angle of inclination of the cutting strip and the current position of the transported snow particle on it have been established. The boundary of the field of relative speeds of a snow particle is substantiated, at which the surface of the cutting strip acts as a connection, and at the same time, that as restrictions imposed on the translational speed of movement of a rotary snow blower for certain trajectories of movement of a snow particle in a vertical feeder, determined by the width of the cutting strip and the nature receipt of cut snow mass. The nature of the change in the equations of motion of the mechanical system under consideration is described. Recommendations are formulated that must be taken into account when choosing the width of the straight surface of the cutting strip of a vertical feeder.
