DPSO-Based Target Coverage for Wireless Sensor Networks with Directional Antenna in Power Pipe Gallery
In wireless sensor networks, random deployment of sensing nodes leads to uneven distribution of nodes, which may lead to problems such as coverage blind areas and affect network quality. Especially for sensors equipped with directional antennas, it is a challenging problem to enhance the coverage of target nodes. To meet this challenge, we propose to use rotatable directional sensors, and use the discrete particle swarm optimization (DPSO) algorithm to schedule the sensors to determine the direction of the antenna, so as to maximize the coverage target and minimize the energy consumption. Experimental results show that our scheme is superior to greedy algorithm and genetic algorithm in these two aspects.
