Research on Distributed Automatic Adjustment Control Technology of Three-Coordinate Measuring Support

In the design and production measurement of automobile parts, the reference point system (RPS) plays a crucial role in quality evaluation. Currently, the combination of RPS and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is widely used in the industry to detect RPS point deviations. Manual adjustment is commonly employed to correct these deviations. However, this manual adjustment process not only affects the efficiency and accuracy of measurements but also poses a risk of damaging the parts. To address these challenges, this article proposes an automatic adjustment technology for CMM support based on a distributed embedded platform with RPS + CMM technology. The developed software enables simultaneous control of multiple adjustment devices through a Wi-Fi connection. The unique mechanical structure of the device converts the motor’s rotational movement into the required translation of the clamping device, allowing for relatively high-accuracy adjustment of the RPS points. In addition, real-time force monitoring of the measured parts is implemented using double-force sensors to prevent any potential damage. Targeting the deviations associated with motor open-loop control, the double-loop proportional-integral–derivative (PID) for speed-position control is employed to achieve accuracy and efficient motor control. In addition, long short-term memory (LSTM) is utilized to further refine the system, addressing deviations stemming from installation and CMM. Notably, the system has been operational in the field for 11 months demonstrating commendable stability and practical utility. This period of successful deployment serves as a foundational benchmark, providing a valuable technical reference for the manufacturing, including vehicles, ships, and aircraft, offering insights into enhancing measurement efficiency and accuracy.
