La philosophie morale de Kant, « rectrice » De la politique moderne africaine
Kantianism gave philosophy a rectifying role with regard to the « spheres of culture » and knowledge. We recognize it, for example, in the fact that it succeeded in formulating moral law; a law which will serve as the supreme principle for deciding what formally causes an action to be declared good or bad; and to decide the value of our moral actions. Almost everywhere in Africa, for the past thirty-five years, there has been concern that morality has disappeared from economic, political and professional life. The diagnosis is certain and irrevocable, that we have not lacked natural resources, skills or money. To tell the truth, we have only lacked morality, which is an integral part of the rationality of social practices and human organizations. It is therefore not surprising to see the slow but increasing triumph of absurdity, injustice, chaos, and violence at all levels. In the light of Kantian morality, the need to reintegrate morality into the heart of African political, economic, and professional life is absolutely obvious.
