Otherwise, acting against her father’s words and returning home would violate the patriarchal order of that time. The analysis of the narratives of the daughters who become owners is categorized into three episodes: first, the daughter accepts her father without any conditions, second, the daughter asks her father to follow her order to let him in, such as bathing, and third, the daughter asks her father to leave after a certain period. In the first episode, the daughter exhibits unconditional hospitality as a landlady. Despite daughter’s hospitality, the father leaves the house, which could mean that he did not accept his daughter’s authority as an owner. In an episode showing conditional hospitality, fathers accept their daughter’s authority over the landholder. In the third episode, where the daughter serves her father for a certain period and then asks him to leave, it could be seen that the daughter is securing the new authority of an owner by removing her father. Living with My Fortune, if one focusing on the landlord, could be read as asking whether the fathers treat family members as full owners, and whether the daughter who becomes a landlord, escapes from the shadow of her father and embodies her authority as a master.
