Minefield Evacuation Proximity Drift Safety Alert
Safety is a critical concern in all industries, especially in mining, where the workforce's well-being is paramount. Mining operations' unique and hazardous conditions present significant real-time monitoring and data collection challenges. This paper introduces a comprehensive safety monitoring system designed specifically for coal mines, leveraging various advanced technologies to enhance safety. The system uses the Arduino Mega 2560 Rev3 as the central processing unit and NRF24L0l modules for robust wireless communication. It employs the u-blox NEO-MSN GPS module for precise location tracking of miners and the Haversine formula to determine the shortest distance considering the positions of two locations on the Earth's surface using their latitudes and longitudes. For high-speed, low-power wireless connectivity, the ESP32 module is integrated, ensuring secure data transfer. Environmental monitoring is conducted using fume analyzers to perceive varying levels of aerosol and solid-state emission detectors to monitor concentrations of toxic vapors, including sulfurous gas (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and carbonous gas (CO), and Monoxide of carbon (CO). If any combustion monitors detects levels exceeding the secure perimeter, the microcontroller triggers a warning to notify personnel immediately. Additionally, the system features a sophisticated control panel for comprehensive result analysis and real-time monitoring of environmental conditions. This integrated approach ensures a safer working environment in coal mines by addressing the critical need for immediate attention to air quality and miner safety.
