A Noise Attack Resistant Blind 3D Watermarking Algorithm for IP Rights Protection
In this era where innovation is reaching new heights, and individuals are making strides in development daily, it has become the need of the hour to ensure that due credit is given to the work to maintain originality and prevent the theft of ideas in the scientific community. With respect to 3-D objects, this study provides mechanisms to embed watermarks - which would be the owners verified image - into the main image, wherein we will test for its robustness against noise attack while keeping the capacity (memory size) and imperceptibility of the watermark in mind. Embedding a 2D watermark into a 3D object is a novel and innovative approach in the field of digital watermarking which is achieved by embedding watermarks into the mesh structure of 3D objects. The attacks were tested against Mushroom, Nefertiti, Pipes and Sphere 3D objects in the study. For the pipes, 98.55 % of the original watermark is recovered, which is the best result considering that 30 % of the faces are warped. The ideologies were derived from the context of steganography and cryptography. Employing an enhanced form of steganography within 3-D objects, detecting it using attacks, and verifying its robustness were the major points of research.
