Enhancing Power System Stability Using Swarm Intelligence Algorithms
Two of the distribution system’s main limiting issues are power outages and voltage fluctuations. The use of dispersed generators throughout the network helps reduces the losses. Nonetheless, DG sizing and ideal placement are critical factors in the appropriate distribution of power. Optimization methods were used in this article to determine the ideal position for DGs inside a network system. All employed algorithms are multi-objective and control the positioning of DGs in distributed networks. The employed algorithms are particle swarm optimization, genetic algorithms, and firefly algorithms. An active distribution network’s ideal configuration, coordinated with distributed generation, reduces power losses, improves voltage levels, and enhances system efficiency. The findings of a thorough investigation proved that the recommended strategy is successful in reducing the distributed system’s voltage variation and energy consumption. On IEEE-33 and IEEE-69 bus systems, the optimization algorithms were tested.
