ARCHIGENIUS - VR MAZE Solving Using A* Algorithm
In the world of entertainment the gaming sector is quickly expanding. Many people find joy in playing games during their free time which often brings a sense of renewal. In this year’s gaming scene action-packed adventures and FirstPerson Shooter (FPS) games have risen to the top as player favorites. Moreover the world of FPS games has evolved greatly to keep players hooked and coming back for more. In the world of gaming characters that aren’t controlled by humans but by the game itself play a big role in making the game feel more real because of the way they act on their own. At the same time when gamers come up against tough opponents like enemies it usually makes the game more fun for them. Moreover the way we play games has been deeply changed thanks to the big steps forward made in virtual reality tech. In this study, the first-person shooter (FPS) game is developed by incorporating non-player character (NPC) elements alongside virtual reality technology. The gameplay is designed as a survival maze. Evaluation results indicate that the game application can render objects in a virtual reality environment seamlessly, and all features function effectively. Furthermore, user testing yielded positive feedback, with an average score of 4.66 from multiple participants. Consequently, the findings of this research suggest that the integration of NPCs, 3D elements, and virtual reality enhances the appeal of FPS games for users. In modern educational contexts, instructors are consistently seeking innovative strategies to engage and inspire students. Within this paradigm, games have proven to be a valuable resource for developing problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, thus enhancing the overall educational journey. The effectiveness of a game in achieving these educational goals is closely linked to sound game design principles. A fundamental aspect is the distinction between the clarity of the final objective and the intricacy of the process needed to attain it: while the end goal should be explicitly defined, the pathway to reach it does not need to be immediately obvious. This necessitates that players tackle the challenge in a methodical way, akin to devising a procedure or program. Additionally, the difficulty level plays a vital role. It is essential to stimulate critical thinking without rendering the game unjust. A game that strikes a balance between fairness and challenge will captivate players, whereas a lack of either element may lead to frustration or disinterest. To further the discipline of game design, we turn our attention to Virtual Reality (VR), which has recently gained prominence as a leading medium for interactive technological experiences, enabling users to fully immerse themselves in these virtual environments. Virtual reality shows promise in meaningfully advancing academia, gaming, and recreation through facilitating novel and distinctive experiences capable of reshaping our approaches to learning and interaction with our surroundings
