Design and Reliability Analysis of a Ridge-Cut Type Explosive Bolts
An explosive bolt is a pyro device with a half explosion point and is a one-shot item that is difficult to develop through theoretical design and numerical simulation.A design verification is required through many separation tests, and reliability can be obtained using the separation test results.Separation tests are performed by reducing the main charge, and the half explosion point and separation reliability of each amount are obtained. In tests by supplemental charge amount, the minimum point at which detonation of the main charge occurs and separation reliability of each supplemental charge are confirmed. The total separation reliability of explosive bolt is derived by combining each separation reliability and operation reliability of a initiator, and the operating performance and design margin presented in standard specifications of pyro-devices are satisfied.
