Abstract 369: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome as a Risk Factor for Acute Ischemic Stroke During Childbearing Years
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disorder affecting up to 10% of women of reproductive age and is associated with metabolic dysfunction, including obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. While each of these conditions is an independent risk factor of acute ischemic stroke (AIS), it remains unclear whether PCOS itself is a predictor of stroke risk.
