Abstract 403: Safety Profile of the Comaneci Device Across All Known Utilizations Worldwide
Comaneci (Rapid Medical, Yokneam, Israel) is the first adjustable remodeling device used for the treatment of wide necked aneurysms. The success and safety of Comaneci, combined with its ability to create adjustable radial force, has led to its more widespread use in the treatment of vasospasm. This specific use is enticing considering the rare but known risk of vessel rupture and death when using a balloon to treat vasospasm. If one could eliminate this risk and maintain efficacy, then the use of stents which exert adjustable radial force could supplant balloons for the mechanical treatment of vasospasm. Thus, we sought to investigate the safety of Comaneci across all known cases world wide.
