Abstract 040: A Human Cadaveric Model For Lobar Intracerebral Hemorrhage

Growing evidence has established a role for minimally invasive surgery (MIS) in the treatment of acute intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Cadaveric models are frequently used to evaluate the performance and usability of surgical devices for management of intracranial pathologies. An advanced cadaveric ICH model may offer an adaptable testing platform to facilitate development of next generation ICH evacuators. Here, we describe methods for reproducible generation of a human cadaveric ICH model with two distinct features: 1) synthetic hemorrhages with fidelity to physiologic ICH size, location, and radiopacity, and 2) preservation of anatomic corridors used in typical MIS interventions.
