Abstract 459: Vanishing Basilar Artery: A Case of Saltzman Type 1 Primitive Persistent Trigeminal Artery (PPTA)
PPTA is one of the rare anastomoses between the anterior and posterior circulations arising during embryological development from the cavernous internal carotid artery (ICA) segment and terminating into the basilar artery (BA), which persists into adulthood for unclear reasons without involuting into the posterior communicating artery. We present a case of an incidental finding of PPTA on imaging.
