Abstract 312: Intra‐arterial Thrombolysis for Central Retinal Artery Occlusion: A Case Series

Central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) is a rare subtype of acute ischemic stroke resulting in devastating visual loss. Limited studies on intravenous tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) showed some promise but no absolute treatment recommendations for CRAO exist. With advancements in endovascular therapy (EVT), intra‐arterial thrombolysis (IAT) is a potential reperfusion option. Evidence is scarce with only one randomized controlled trial suggesting benefit of IAT for CRAO at early timepoints from symptom onset, however, even in this trial mean time to recanalization (TTR) was 13 hours. This case series anecdotally outlines outcomes of CRAO treated with early IAT.
