Abstract 006: Optimizing Catheter Size and Positioning in Direct Thromboaspiration: a fluid‐structure interaction simulation study.
Aspiration thrombectomy is a primary treatment for ischemic stroke caused by occlusion of intracranial vessels. Its efficacy depends on catheter size and negative pressure, increasing these parameters introduces risks like arterial wall collapse, potentially compromising procedure success. This study identifies mechanical and fluid dynamic parameters associated with arterial wall collapse during aspiration thrombectomy, using a fluid‐structure interaction analysis.
