Abstract 412: Strengthening Awareness in Detecting Cerebral Gas Embolism Following High‐Risk Procedures
Cerebral air embolism (CAE) is a rare but potentially devastating condition resulting from the entrance of air into the cerebral vasculature, almost always due to iatrogenic causes. CAE can mimic other types of stroke but requires different treatment, making swift diagnosis and intervention essential. This case report discusses a massive cerebral gas embolism following an elective endoscopic procedure, leading to significant morbidity and eventual mortality.
