Abstract 307: Initial Impressions of a Novel 64‐Wire Surface‐Modified Flow Diverter: Experience in 11 Surpass Elite Cases

The Surpass Elite flow diverter represents an evolution in the design of single‐layer cobalt chromium devices, featuring a 64‐wire configuration with a high braid angle and a novel surface modification. Previous Surpass implants have been effective in treating intracranial aneurysms, but the advantage of enhanced opening pressure (lower braid angle) has come with sub‐optimal vessel apposition. This has often necessitated post‐implantation angioplasty or the use of anchoring devices to achieve optimal apposition. The Surpass Elite aims to overcome these limitations through a redesigned structure that incorporates a higher braid angle which greatly enhances flexibility and wall apposition with the added benefit of a novel surface modification.
