Abstract 389: Real World Time to Thrombolytic Treatment Mirror Randomized Mobile Stroke Unit Trial
Randomized trials are the gold standard for testing novel approaches to established treatment strategies. However, the controlled setting inherent to trials may not accurately reflect the complexities of real‐world clinical practice. BEST‐MSU demonstrated that mobile stroke units (MSUs) accelerate thrombolytic treatment for acute ischemic stroke and improve clinical outcomes compared to standard management by Emergency Medical Services (EMS). We aimed to determine whether observed real‐world data from MSU patients treated with intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) (RW cohort) demonstrated results comparable to IVT‐treated patients from the BEST‐MSU trial (RT cohort).
