Abstract 263: Endovascular Management of IIH in a Pregnant Patient with Transverse Venous Sinus Stenosis
Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) is a rare disorder characterized by elevated intracranial pressure without a clear etiology, most commonly affecting young women. The condition poses significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, particularly during pregnancy, where management options are limited due to potential risks to both the mother and fetus. Endovascular treatment for venous sinus stenosis, a key contributor to IIH, is an uncommon and complex intervention during pregnancy. This case illustrates the rarity and challenges of performing such a procedure in a pregnant patient, highlighting the necessity of a multidisciplinary approach to optimize maternal and fetal outcomes.
