Abstract 379: Prolonged and reversible encephalopathy secondary to arteriovenous fistula: a case report
Intracranial dural arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is a rare vascular condition characterized by an abnormal arterio‐venous shunt within the dura, often involving sinus or cortical venous drainage. AVFs can develop in various regions of the central nervous system, most frequently in the transverse sinus. The symptoms of dural AVFs can vary significantly depending on their location. One example is progressive thalamic dementia caused by venous hypertension affecting the thalamic draining veins. In this report, we present a patient who developed reversible progressive encephalopathy due to this condition.
