Abstract 173: A Question of Safety for Thrombolytic Use in Moya Moya Vasculopathy: A Case Report and Preliminary Scoping Review
MMV vasculopathy (MMV) is characterized by progressive narrowing of the intracranial vessels. It is best visualized on MRA or catheter‐based angiography. Given the collateralization around stenotic vessels, MMV can increase risk of hemorrhage, especially if there are high‐risk angiographic findings such as increased choroidal arterial collateralization2. Approximately 30% of MMV patients present with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) due to friable collateral vessels, most commonly in anterior circulation3. We aim to review patients with MMV that have received thrombolytic therapy for acute ischemic stroke to assess safety and efficacy in this population.
