Abstract 065: Acute Transient Cortical Blindness Following Cerebral Angiography: A Case Report
Transient cortical blindness (TCB) is a rare complication following contrast medium injection, especially during diagnostic cerebral angiography with digital subtraction. TCB incidence ranges from 0.2% to 1% and is characterized by sudden vision loss, normal pupillary reflexes, normal fundus, normal external eye movements, and unaltered neuroimaging. Onset can be immediate or up to 24 hours post‐injection, with risk factors including high contrast medium amounts and vertebral artery shots. We present a case of TCB following cerebral digital substraction angiography (DSA) for extracranial arteriovenous malformation treatment planning.
