Proces deinstytucjonalizacji integracji migrantów w Polsce ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem dzieci

Migrations are today one of the most serious contemporary challenges for European countries. In order for them to be a source of benefit and support for economies in need of labour and the demographically-burdened social systems of an aging Europe, it is necessary to consistently and widely implement integration policy towards migrants. Particular attention should be paid in this matter to the children of migrants, as they are treated as objects in the migration process – they are taken to live in new, unknown societies, with nothing more than their luggage and the required travel documents. Poland has not developed any effective nor sensitive institutional model of including these children in the reality of the host society. The needs and expectations in the field of education, foster care, and identity have to be met by local governments, NGOs, and/or local social entities. Therefore, we are dealing with a kind of so-called, ‘bottom-up (forced) deinstitutionalisation’, the functioning, financing, and effectiveness of which should be examined and recommendations for the future be designed.
