Using 3D CDPM Seismic Exploration to Identify Low-Amplitude Tectonic Disturbances in Coal Seams of The Karaganda Basin
The possibilities of using 3D CDPM seismic exploration to detect low-amplitude tectonic disturbances in the mine fields of the Karaganda coal basin are considered. Characteristics of the geological and geophysical conditions of the basin and the rationale for the expected results of 3D seismic exploration are presented. The main tasks for conducting high-resolution 3D seismic exploration are defined, the development of a methodology of conducting research and obtaining high-quality seismic exploration data is proposed that can be used to solve a wide range of geological problems: studying the structural and tectonic structure of the region, identifying and tracing faults and possible fracturing zones, detecting low-amplitude tectonic faults, identifying areas of increased methane content of marker coal seams, selecting sites for drilling preliminary degassing wells of developed coal seams, developing a design for preliminary degassing wells. A description of the data interpretation is presented, the significance of the results obtained is emphasized. The composition and sequence of seismic exploration works are described. The efficiency of using three-dimensional seismic exploration for detecting low-amplitude tectonic dislocations is assessed.
