Fiber-optic gyroscope with a noise reduction system in the output signal, mathematical modeling, experiment

The aim of the work is to experimentally confirm the correctness of the developed mathematical model of FOG noise with a noise suppression scheme. A computer stochastic model was developed in the Octave environment and a model of the FOG with a noise reduction system was designed and manufactured. The analytical and computer models were tested for different values of the FOG parameters; the discrepancy in the modeling results was no more than 10%. The models were verified by comparing the simulation results with the prototyping results. The Allan deviation method has shown that adding a noise suppression system results in a nearly two-fold reduction in output signal noise. The results of the modeling and the natural experiment differ by no more than 10%, which indicates a high level of adequacy of the models. The noise reduction coefficient obtained in practice agrees well with the theoretical estimate, which indicates complete suppression of excess noise from the optical radiation source.
